John has had a long and successful business career.
A Chartered Accountant, John built and ran a group of companies involved in import/export activities, especially in the textile market. John has also been active in the NFP sector for many years including 12 years as a Trustee of Presbyterian Support Northern, a large social services provider for the Northern region of New Zealand.
John also has significant experience in senior volunteer roles such as President of the New Zealand National Party, President of Auckland C & R Association and Chairman of the Newmarket Business Association, as well as long service in church and other organisations. John also served on the Board of ACC for more than seven years including chairing the Audit Committee and two years as Deputy Chair. John is a member of the Institute of Directors, the Chartered Institute of Secretaries and Administrators and is a Justice of the Peace.
John’s wife, Margaret, sadly passed away from a gynaecological cancer in 2012 and John is looking forward to helping the Foundation make a difference in this area of women’s health. John lives in Auckland and has three adult children and six grandchildren.
In addition to her significant volunteer work for the Foundation, Jan and her husband, Nick, also run their own successful Auckland based plumbing business, K & B Plumbing Ltd. The Company has played a significant role in supporting the Foundation since Jan started working as a Volunteer in 2009.
Jan has a vested interest in helping the New Zealand Gynaecological Cancer Foundation as she is a survivor of a gynaecological cancer, has lost close family members to gynaecological cancer's and has had close friends go through similar experiences.
Jan and Nick have two grown sons and are making the most of their newly acquired ‘empty nest’ status to travel as much as possible.
His first wife Cecile died of ovarian cancer in 1996 when his three children were teenagers. Now Peter is a proud grandfather of six and through the Gynaecological Cancer Foundation wants to do his role in educating and informing women about the dangers of gynaecological cancers and how knowledge and early detection of these diseases can make such a difference to the outcomes in our communities.

In business now for more than 25 years, Michelle continues to engage with New Zealand businesses to provide insights and strategy for inspiring many New Zealand brands to be more market-led both internationally and domestically. She is also currently CEO of The China Connection – a New Zealand owned Chinese social media and e-commerce cross-border digital agency.
Alongside family and work, she is committed to enriching the experiences of those affected by Women’s cancers and to providing support, education and advocacy. The charity is very close to her heart as she lost her mother to ovarian cancer.
Having been a Board Member since 2017, she is pleased to support the Foundation in building greater reach and providing impactful support.
New Zealander by birth, married to a Turk and speaks Mandarin, some Dutch and Turkish. She has two adult children who are learning Chinese and Spanish. Each year she undertakes a trek in one of the New Zealand National Parks with some special friends.

Liane has spent most of her professional career as MD in her printing business. She has a sweet spot for building and enhancing connection and interactions with people to make a difference.
She joined the New Zealand Gynaecological Cancer Foundation in 2017 to support them in their endeavours of increasing the awareness of women’s cancers and how early detection can save lives.
Liane is married with two grown children. She is an inspired TRX and Pilates exerciser and now divides her working life in the family business and Global Marketing, Insight and Strategy company based in Auckland where she applies her expertise in logistics and operational planning.
